Dr. Michael Miletic received his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario and completed his residency through Wayne State University. He is also a former Olympic athlete. During the time he spent in intensive, physical training for the Olympic Games, he developed, for his own use and for that of his teammates, a form of mental performance training, which would become the forerunner of what he would later offer to patients. After retirement from competition, he practiced family and emergency medicine. The discovery that 90% of his patients were presenting stress-related problems prompted him to pursue a residency and board certification in psychiatry and neurology.
Melding his practical experience with his formal training, Dr. Miletic was able to create models of mental and physical performance for elite athletes. His extensive experience with athletes from high-school to professional level, was a springboard for the expansion of his practice to make his knowledge available to all types of people in need of his expertise.
The realization that the functional performance of the body, strongly effects mental operation and vice versa, lead Dr. Miletic into the study of functional, performance and regenerative medicine. He recently became board-certified in anti-aging and regenerative medicine.
The merging of mind and body medical practices allows Dr. Miletic to offer a new and unique approach to mental and physical performance, as well as traditional psychiatric issues. He uses his knowledge of neuroscience to understand how the brain can both contribute to and be affected by health and illness, within the body.
This practice results in a customized, personalized and comprehensive approach to every patient that he works with, regardless of their current state of health, which brings the brain and body into perfect balance.
